ATL/VTS installation services

Mainline offers complete and comprehensive installation services for VTS and ATL tape systems that will provide customers with all of the assistance and skills needed to properly install and migrate to the new tape solution. Our goal is to make sure every VTS and ATL implementation is successful for our customers. We provide detailed planning, installation, and migration services, as well as training for systems programmers and operators so all aspects of the new tape library are properly exploited, and the transition to the new equipment is complete and rewarding.

Mainline VTS and ATL implementation services include:

  • Provide pre installation planning and validation of hardware orders
  • Work closely with the customer and engineers to ensure all environmental requirements are identified, cable orders are correct, and all necessary information needed for a successful install is gathered and communicated to necessary parties.
  • Prepare a comprehensive installation plan and conduct regular status meetings to ensure schedules are met and assignments are completed on schedule.
  • Work closely onsite with the customer's system programming staff to install and configure the software components needed to manage the new ATL and VTS solution. This includes OAM, DFSMS, and necessary updates to the tape management system.
  • Provide training, documentation, and skills transfer to system programmers, administrators, and operators on the proper use and best practices of the new tape libraries.
  • Provide consultation on migration options and in many cases, perform the migration to the new tape libraries.
